The Important Facts Concerning the Inventor and Designer Nicholas Bredimus
January 25th, 2010

Are you aware of how the untold developments in IT have fundamentally changed the face of air travel and hospitality in the past decade? The driving force behind this is Mr Nicholas Bredimus. He has worked on projects ranging from creating time-saving computer programs to advancing air safety and even designs for upmarket homes. Anyone could have predicted, however, that given his heritage he was sure to reach distinction. His kindred can trace its roots as far back as the time of Rome’s glory and can boast of a diverse mix of nationalities. His maternal family mingles German and Scottish ancestry. An equally broad blend typifies the paternal line – before their emigration in the late nineteenth century, Bredimus’ forebears dwelt in Luxembourg and England. Naturally, after arrival in the US, they continued their immaculate work ethic and zeal to go up in the world. Nicholas, who would grow up with his siblings, was a child of a father employed as a mechanical design engineer and his spouse, a nurse. Nicholas would dwell in Texas for several years as well as in Reston, VA, Scottsdale, AZ and Kansas City, MO. Once his education was complete, he engaged in a few high powered posts with some of the most important and most illustrious airline companies. Among these was included the title of Vice President for Republic Airlines, Trans World Airlines (TWA), and Hughes Airwest. Nevertheless, above all the airline industry has felt the need to thank him for services in the field of computer programming.

Nicholas Bredimus is probably most acclaimed for a US Airways request, innovating airplane maintenance software, destined to become an industry standard. He went on to design countless other pieces of software for the hotel and airline industries in addition, including robotic software to handle airline bookings, now in use at over fifty airlines, and his innovative client based room booking system deployed by the hotel industry, first offered to the public at over 700 locations. Next came an online, networked system for selling tickets which stands as a first. Nicholas parlayed these successes into positions which weren’t obviously connected to software design, and continued to make a name in these sectors as well. Nicholas Bredimus worked as manager for American Express’ prestigious IT wing, launched Bredimus Systems in 1993, and became the founding president of American Airlines’ AMR Travel Services.

But is he still working? Definitely so – his savvy is still very much in demand and at the ready no matter his retirement. His focus has shifted to the architectural problems bound up in the emergence of environmentally neutral, hitech upmarket homes.
